Process
For new users, please follow the step-by-step guide to set up the device.
1. Power on and Select Language
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn on your Goldshell Wallet.
- Select your preferred language by following the on-screen instructions.
2. Add Wallet: Create or Import with Seed Phrase
2.1 New User: Create New Wallet
- Select "Create New Wallet" if you are setting up a Goldshell Wallet for the first time.
- Your device will generate a 12-word seed phrase, write it down and store it securely.
- Verify the words in the correct order on the screen to confirm the seed phrase.
2.2 Already Have a Goldshell Seed Phrase: Import Wallet
- Choose "Import Wallet" if you already have a compatible wallet's seed phrase.
- Enter your existing seed phrase using the on-screen keyboard.
- Confirm the seed phrase to import your existing wallet.
- Write it Down: Record your seed phrase on the Recovery Sheet.
- Keep it Private: Never share your seed phrase with anyone, and avoid entering it online.
- Stay Offline: Always store your seed phrase offline to prevent unauthorized access. Avoid importing online-generated seed phrases into Goldshell Wallet, as they may already be compromised.
3. Wallet Naming and PIN Code Setting
3.1 Name your wallet for better recognition.
3.2 Set a 6-24 digit strong PIN to protect your wallet.
- Enter new PIN code and select ☑️ to complete.
- Enter PIN code again and select ☑️ to proceed.
- The device can store two sets of seed phrases, allowing you to use different PINs to unlock each corresponding wallet. To change the PIN for the current wallet, go to "Wallet" and select "PIN and Fingerprint". These two PINs cannot be the same.
- For security purposes, if you mistype the PIN multiple times, the system will automatically restore the device to factory settings, meaning you will need to re-import your wallet.
- Goldshell will not store your PIN. If you forget it, please reset your wallet, recover it with the seed phrase and set a new PIN.
4. Fingerprint Management (Skippable)
Use fingerprint to unlock the device and sign transactions. It can be found in "Wallet > PIN and Fingerprint".

Touch the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device and follow the prompts to enter your fingerprint. You will get a confirmation note when it is finished.

Please note:
- This tutorial covers the essential steps to get you started. It doesn't cover advanced features like Fingerprint Management, Device Verification, Vibration and Alert Light Settings. You can activate these manually after the initial setup.
- Remember to keep your seed phrase safe and never share it with anyone to ensure the security of your funds.
FxWallet App
This section provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FxWallet App on your mobile phone.
Quick Start of FxWallet App

Download FxWallet App.
- Once downloaded, open the app and follow the prompts to connect your wallet.
Connect Your Goldshell Hardware Wallet
Please ensure your hardware wallet is activated, and at least a wallet account is set up in the device before proceeding. Be sure your hardware wallet and app are both up to date before connecting.
If you're new to FxWallet:
- Open the FxWallet App and tap 'Connect Hardware Wallet'.
- Select 'Goldshell', then read through the on-screen instructions.
- Tap 'Scan to Connect', then open your Goldshell hardware wallet and click 'Connect App', scan the QR code displayed on your Goldshell hardware wallet with the FxWallet App.
If you've previously imported other wallets:
- Open the FxWallet App and tap the wallet name to open the Wallet List.
- Tap 'Add Wallet' at the bottom.
- Select 'Hardware Wallet'.
- Choose 'Goldshell' and read through the instructions.
- Tap 'Scan to Connect', then open your Goldshell hardware wallet and click 'Connect App', scan the QR code displayed on your Goldshell hardware wallet with the FxWallet App.
Fingerprint Management
You can add up to 2 fingerprints for unlocking your device or signing transactions within the Goldshell Wallet. This tutorial will guide you through setting up, using, and removing fingerprints.
Find Fingerprints Settings Page
- After unlocking your Goldshell Wallet, find "Wallet" on the right page and go to"PIN and Fingerprint".
- On the "PIN and Fingerprint" page, choose "Fingerprint Settings".
Add Fingerprints
- Before setting up fingerprints, please confirm your identity by entering your PIN code.
- Touch the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device and follow the prompts to enter your fingerprint. You will get a confirmation note when it is finished.
Remove Fingerprints
- On the "Fingerprint Settings" screen, tap the delete button on the right side of the specific fingerprint you want to delete, such as "Fingerprint 1".
- You have to confirm your identity by entering your PIN code before deleting fingerprints.
Configure Usage Scenarios
- This "PIN and Fingerprint" page displays the options related to "Fingerprint Scenarios", which include "Unlock Device" and "Sign Transactions".
- To enable or disable specific scenarios, simply slide the corresponding switch. You may choose to enable or disable scenarios according to your requirements.
Device Verification
Device verification is crucial for identifying potential contamination during transportation, preventing supply chain attacks, and ensuring the integrity of installed firmware. Using our straightforward Device Verification tool, you can easily confirm that your Goldshell wallet device remains secure and uncompromised.
Find Device Verification Page
- Setup your Goldshell Wallet, and then find "About" on the right page and select "Verify Your Device".
- On the "About" page, choose "Verify Your Device" and follow the next steps.
Verify Your Device through Goldshell Wallet App
Please ensure your hardware wallet is activated, and a wallet account is set up in the device before proceeding.
- Download and open the Goldshell Wallet App, ensuring that you have the latest version.
- Navigate to the "Profile" page, select "Device Verification" and a QR code will be provided.
- Scan the QR code using Goldshell Wallet to get a 24-digit verification code and a new QR code for automatic verification in the Goldshell Wallet App.
- Enter the verification code manually into the App or scan the new QR code with the App to complete the verification process. The verification result will then be displayed.
Verify Your Device via Goldshell Wallet Website
- Visit the Goldshell Wallet website and select "Resource" - "Device Verification" in the navigation bar.
- Select "Start," and a QR code will be provided on the website.
- Scan the QR code using Goldshell Wallet to get a 24-digit verification code.
- Enter the verification code on the website, and then the result of the verification will be displayed.
- New Device Verification: The device is genuine and certified for first-time use.
- Already Verified: This device has been verified before. If you have not previously completed the new device verification, please be cautious of any tampering.
- Verification Failed: Unauthorized breach attempt detected. The device has been tampered with, posing a threat to stored assets.
Vibration and Alert Light Settings
The vibration and alert light features improve usability and safety by providing clear visual and tactile signals. You can easily enable or disable these functions by following the steps below.

Setup your Goldshell Wallet, and then find the "System" on the right page and select "Interactive Feedback".

This "Interactive Feedback" page displays the options related to "Alert Light" and "Vibration."

To enable or disable specific scenarios, simply slide the corresponding switch. You may choose to enable or disable scenarios according to your requirements.

White: Indicates charging status. Please ensure the device is in a safe and stable environment while charging.

Yellow: Signals error notifications, low battery, or firmware updates. Pay close attention to the device's notification for further action.

Orange: Alerts related to the seed phrase. This may indicate a critical step in the setup or recovery process.

Red: Warns of wallet deletion or factory reset. Proceed with caution, as these actions are irreversible.
Firmware Update (USB)
Please note:

Backup Your Seed Phrase: Ensure you have a secure backup of your seed phrase before starting the update process.

Handling Interruptions: In case of an unexpected interruption or malfunction during the upgrade, unplug the Type-C port, reconnect it, and reopen the webpage to resume the update.

Check Battery: Ensure your Goldshell Wallet has at least 20% battery charge before starting the update.

Connect Computer: Use a USB data cable to connect your device to the computer. Keep the device connected throughout the update process.

Get Firmware and Start Update:

Visit the Goldshell Wallet Firmware WebUSB Update. Ensure your computer's connection privileges are enabled; otherwise, the device may only charge and not transfer data.

On the WebUSB Update page, click "Start" select the Goldshell Wallet you want to upgrade, and confirm. The device will enter the upgrade state. Wait for the process to complete.

Firmware Update (MicroSD)
Please note:

Goldshell Wallet, and make sure it's charged more than 20%.
- A MicroSD card with a capacity of no more than 32GB (recommended) and a MicroSD card reader.

Download Goldshell Wallet Imager.
Process

Check Battery: Ensure your Goldshell Wallet has at least 20% battery charge before starting the update.

Get Firmware: Insert the MicroSD card into your computer and open the Goldshell Wallet Imager.
Click "Select device", select the Goldshell Wallet you want to upgrade and click Confirm;

Insert MicroSD Card and Start Update:
Insert the MicrosD card with the firmware into your Goldshell Wallet;
Open Goldshell Wallet, select "System" - "Firmware Update" - "Via Micro SD Card" - "Restart," the device will enter the upgrade state, wait for the upgrade to complete.
- Capacity requirement: Select a MicroSD card with 1GB or more storage.
- Recommended brands: SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston
Note: The SD card will be formatted and all existing data will be erased. Please back up your important files in advance.
